Speech 101: The Parent's Role in Speech Development

As a parent, you play an essential role in supporting your child's speech and language development. There are many ways you can encourage your child's speech development and help them meet their milestones.

One of the most important ways to support your child's speech development is to talk to them regularly, even from a young age. Narrate your daily activities, talk about what you see around you, and ask your child questions. This will help them develop their listening and comprehension skills, as well as encourage them to start speaking themselves.

Reading with your child is also an excellent way to support their language development. Choose books with simple, repetitive language, and encourage your child to point at the pictures and talk about what they see. This will help them develop their vocabulary and comprehension skills.
